Howlite Tumbled Stone Measures between 1/2" to 1" Howlite is an opaque white stone known for its grey or brown veining, however it can also be found with little to no veining at all.  Its named after Henry How who first discovered this gemstone in 1868 near Windsor, Nova Scotia. It is consider to be a soft stone making it a good choice for carvings, spheres, eggs, skulls and cabochons. Mining areas include Newfoundland, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, Russia, and the U.S.  Howlite is believed to be excellent for meditation and has been used by practitioners to focus the mind. It promotes mental clarity, calming, and stops intrusive thoughts. Also known to strengthen your memory and stimulates a desire for knowledge.
