Create Your Own One-Piece Swimsuit

This class is in-person at Art Center East in Vernon, CT. Design your own one-piece swimsuit using a sloper. Learn how to draw a swimsuit design using a template, create the sewing pattern for your design using a provided sloper, and sew the pattern together using swimsuit materials.  In this class you will learn to: use a fashion croquis template to draw your swimsuit design. alter a swimsuit sloper to make the sewing pattern for your design (shapes covered include neckline, leg openings, back coverage, and other style details). prepare, cut, and sew a muslin/toile of your swimsuit pattern using swimwear materials and apply elastics for swimwear. evaluate the fit of your muslin/toile based on your design and fit preferences. transfer any changes to the final sewing pattern and work toward your custom designed swimwear!
