Filipino Suksuka with Konjac Sizing-PH-01

This wonderful, handmade paper from the Philippines is made from the finest bast fibers native to that region, in this case, a plant somewhat close to kozo and somewhat close to mitsumata fiber. Sheets are screened using Japanese tamezuki-style formation. This rich, natural toned paper has extra, all-natural surface sizing made from devil's root powder or "konjac", creating a stiff- almost "crispy" surface.  SukSuka with konjac sizing is not only perfect book arts, lampshades and is also recommended for mokuhanga; Japanese style woodblock printing. Measures 18 x 24 inches.
