I'm a celluloid fan. There's nothing else like it. The one good thing about Sheaffer's switch is Persian Blue. Persian Blue pens were only available from 1948-1951. With the introduction of the Snorkel in 1952 Sheaffer switched plastic suppliers and the Persian blue was replaced by pastel blue. Nice, but not even close. I have many Persian Blue pens. I find them almost irresistible. The color is so rich. My guess is that Henry H. Brown received this set as a gift. He inked the pen once just to show some appreciation to the giver. Then he put it back into it's box and went back to using whatever had already become his old reliable pen. This set is as close to NOS (New Old Stock) as they come.
