I've heard opinions the Aurora 88 was a knock-off of the Parker "51". I think that does  too little credit to Aurora. The 88, in my opinion, is one of the best pens ever made. I have two 88s in my personal collection but not a single "51". Aurora offered the 88 with 9 nib options. A matrix of 3 point sizes (fine, medium & broad) crossed with 3 grades of flexibility (flexible, medium flexible & firm). This nib is a medium flexible fine point. It is in excellent condition with no evidence of misuse. One must be careful purchasing a flexible nib 88. The nibs are small and thin and easily abused beyond their capability. This one has been well kept and has wonderful response. I am not a particularly adept flex nib writer so I find the medium flex perfectly suited for every day writing. The piston filler is simple and robust. The original leather gaskets have been replaced with a modern, synthetic rubber o-ring that should last for years.
