A Cyphostemma with thick, peeling caudex. . Big, succulent, fleshy leaves with clusters of red flowers and berries throughout the growing season. Deciduous foliage. Cyphostemma are members of the grape family but are not edible. 4" pots shipped bare root This plant, just like other members of the family, forms small nodules underneath the leaves on occasion called "cystoliths." Many people scrape these off thinking they are eggs from a pest. Please don't! They are actually mineralized nodules that help disperse light to the darker areas of the leaves shaded by its other leaves- which is why they are usually seen on the undersides of the leaf.  Grower's Choice: Photos in the listings unless otherwise specified are representative of the plant that will be sent to you. Each plant may vary slightly in shape, size, growth pattern, etc. as they are all individuals like you and me! As always if you receive a plant that you are dissatisfied with please reach out to us within 7 days of receipt
