Gorgeous metalwork on this beautiful Victorian-era handled butter server. It features intricate and ornate details of flowers, scrollwork, and tiny deer heads on the sides of the handle.  The top of the handle looks like a pair of wings, and is functional in that you can use that area to hold the lid while serving.  What makes this server especially unique is the cranberry glass insert.  It makes for a striking contrast with the metalwork.  Although I believe this to be a butter server, I’ve seen these types of dishes listed as cheese or caviar servers as well. It is endearingly engraved with the name “Cora” on the front.  Makes you wonder who Cora was..Hmm.  The server was estate-owned and is in good antique condition, especially considering its age.  The base where the glass insert goes into is a little bent, and I believe there to be some plating loss. Take a close look at the pictures for condition reference.  It measures approx. 11”H x 8 3/8”W x 5 1/8”D.
