RARE Barker Ellis Ornate Silverplate Water Pitcher /hg

Stunning and rare antique silverplate water pitcher by Barker Ellis Silver Company of Birmingham, England.  This piece has beautiful engraved flourishes, scroll work, and ornate acanthus-style edging to the rim. The handle is really special too with a wood-like composite creating a lovely, elegant look and nice contrast to the silverplate. There is a spot in the middle of the pitcher on both sides that would be ideal for a monogram/engraving.  Perfect for personalizing this as a gift.  The bottom has the Barker Ellis “menorah” stamp on it which is indicative of pieces made between 1912-1940.  I believe this piece was likely made before 1931 though because Barker Ellis started putting a DS mark on all of their pieces after 1931, and this piece doesn’t have one.   The piece was estate-owned and lovingly cared for.  It’s in excellent vintage condition, showing only minor scratching from use and polishing.  The pitcher measures 8 5/8” in height and 4.75” in diameter.  Spout to tip of handl
