Resilience: a Calcified Shell Details: 30x40" canvas in a natural 2" wood frame   This original painting is inspired by the resiliency and textures of calcified shells found along Orange County beaches. I love how muted tones of calcification contrast to the pops of blue, pink and brown colors. I scraped away layers of sand, paint, and limestone to expose my base layer of blue pigment. The smooth and rough textures created this gorgeous patina look that is so unique and exquisite!  This painting is painted with natural pigments, such as limestone, sand, charcoal, coffee, brick, inks and a bit of crayon and pastels.
