Cleistocactus Strausii Silver torch Cleistocactus strausii, the silver torch or wooly torch, is a perennial flowering plant in the family Cactaceae. It is native to mountainous regions of Department Tarija, Bolivia, at 1,500–3,000 m. Its slender, erect, grey-green columns can reach a height of 3 m, but are only about 6 cm across. Silver Torch Cactus prefers a warm climate. During its active growth period, it thrives in moderate room temperatures. Yet, during the winter, when the cactus is resting, the temperatures shouldn't be higher than 50-59°F
