ABOUT THIS WINE The Railyard Vineyard sits just north of the town of Geyserville and was planted in pre-phylloxera times on St. George rootstock. Vines planted on this “old fashioned” rootstock show more vigor than when planted on the more modern AXR1 type. St. George also requires much less water, a key benefit, as California just posted the driest year on record. 90% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Syrah; alcohol: 14.5%; soils: deep fine sandy loam, vine age: planted in 1983 on St. George rootstock; aged in 15% new French oak for 16 months. ABOUT THIS PRODUCER Trig Point is produced by Nick Goldschmidt and his wife Yolyn. After flying the globe for many years as the head-winemaker for the likes of Simi, Allied Domecq, and Beam Estates, Nick decided to start a family company with his wife Yolyn in 1998. The goal of the company was to focus on site specific wine making from great vineyard sites from around the world. Having produced so many world class wines from around the globe, Nick knew ex
