Faden Quartz Tabular Twinning Elestiated Cluster, Pakistan—MINI14
This diminutive cluster packs a lot of personality in a small package! (Please examine scale photo and read dimensions carefully.) The crystal cluster is clear quartz growing in a tabular habit--a broad, flat termination. It features a super thin, very subtle thread-like fibrous formation known as a Faden. Fadens resemble a thin white cord or wire that are sometimes surrounded by liquid- or gaseous-filled chambers in the host crystal. In this case, the faden is visible running throughout the length of the larger crystal, and even continues to other areas within. This crystal is a lovely example of twinning--several other double terminated delicate crystals have grown in an elestiated cluster with clean terminations, and some damage is present as raw areas and abrasions on the some of the tips. This aesthetic cluster has good interior clarity and a fascinating appearance. Faden Quartz is a very unusual and unique growth pattern, and is sure to interest those of us who love science, as
