The obsidian features banding in deep green, pink, and blue, set against the rich black of the volcanic glass. Rainbow obsidian forms these amazing color bands naturally--they are formed when gas bubbles remaining from lava flow align in layers created by flow lines. This piece would make a lovely gift for crystal and animal lovers, and a striking addition to any rock & mineral collection.
