Church as a Communion (Perspectives and Expressions the Asian Context) by Fr. Jannel N. Abogado, OP
LISTENING TO ASIA I Essentials for the understanding of the “Church as a communion” is planting the gospel message into the cultures where it is preached “and the introduction of these cultures into the life of the Church.” Along this line, the FABC states that “the Christian communities of Asia continue to search for appropriate means to make the Church truly Catholic and truly Asian.” While the Church in Asia cannot but be inclusive in being and expressing herself as a Church, she must not forget her Asian identity. What one will find in this volume is the face of the Church understood and expressed by the different Asian ecclesial communities. The reflections contained herein are concerned with the appropriation of the Christian faith interpreted and adapted by the various Asian Christian communities to meet the need of their own contexts.
