Reading it was a great joy. It is smart, funny, well-felt, absolutely fluent. I think it is the best single poet collection from here since the aborted Gelacio Guillermo volume in the ’60s. It is as good as anything I remember from Jun Lansang. -Erwin E. Castillo on Caesuras: 155 New Poems What distinguished the poet’s style... was that you could clearly hear a bard displaced into the twenty-first century... In Samarkand reminded me why we climb these peaks and cut through the stone in the first place. The view is incredible. -Rafael Antonio C. San Diego Weekly Graphic on In Samarkand Pitch-perfect, effortless. Right now I can barely read it through the tears. -Rowena T. Torrevillas on the poem Self-Ekhphrasis
