Epimedium 'Flamingo Dancer' was brought into the US from Japan by Terra Nova founder, Dan Heims. The fairy wing was subsequently named and introduced in 2001 by Diana Reeck of Collector's Nursery. The vigorous clumps of Epimedium 'Flamingo Dancer' are topped, starting in late March (NC), with spider-like flowers, composed of bright crimson-red cups and complementary bright pink spurs...a very nice show, and like all fairy wings, it's deer-resistant.
