Birks Retro Era OEC Diamond Toi et Moi Ring

An elegant, Retro-era, toi et moi engagement ring, modeled in white gold (18k&14k), by the well-known Canadian jewelry house, Birks. This ring features a matched pair of very sparkly, white (F/G), old European cut diamonds (.96 carats, and .94 carats). These old hand-cut diamonds are held in crown-like, four-prong mounts, and are tucked up against a pair of long, curving forms that complete the ring face. These graceful forms seem to grow from the ring shank; they reach out, languidly, then curl back toward each other. They are bead-set with a series of small, single-cut diamonds, and their edges are finished with fine milgrain details. We love this unique ring for its beautiful movement and abstract figural quality— the curving forms call to mind leaves, branches, or tendrils. Worn with the diamonds down (toward the wrist) the ring suggests a pair of cherries; worn with the diamonds up (toward the finger tips) it suggests flowers. This ring has a big, glamorous presence in wear!
