Mid Century Modernist Nest of Vipers Snake Ring

An unusual mid century cocktail ring, with modernist sensibilities, modeled in 14k gold to suggest a clutch of four snakes striking out in different directions. Two of the snakes in our little nest of vipers have heads that are embellished with trios of bead-set white diamonds, the other two have heads that are polished smooth. This design has outstanding movement and contrast, and it is very flattering in wear. Snakes have long been regarded as guardians, and this ring makes a fierce statement as a protective amulet. We think it also brings to mind the gorgon Medusa, because of the way the snakes move in different directions— for this reason it might also symbolize feminine power.
