Their apple orchard began with a handful of trees deliberately planted more than a century ago, trees gone feral in an alpine meadow. Over the years more apples have secreted themselves throughout the forest, alongside their quiet creeks and blackberry thickets, spread only by nature -- each a unique expression from seedling.
