
.220 Swift Varmint Rifles - Matched Pair with Sequential Serial Numbers - 1963
This is a pair of .220 Swift varmint rifles with sequential serial numbers, both produced in 1963. The varmint rifle configuration was produced from 1955-1963 and had a medium-heavy stainless steel barrel mated to a sporter style stock. These two rifles were some of the last pre-64 models produced by Winchester. The first rifle has serial number 575801 marked on both the receiver and bolt; the second rifle is likewise marked with serial number 575802. The very last pre-1964 model 70 produced, of any chambering, was serial number 581471. Regarding serial number 575801, the metal is in excellent condition. The factory “Du-lite" bluing of the stainless barrel has no notable wear or fading. There are a few very small, very light, scratches or rubs in the barrel finish. Likewise, there is almost no notable edge wear or fading on the receiver, bolt components, or bottom metal.
