Yann Bertrand Triptyque 2023

Yann Bertrand Triptyque is a unique natural wine crafted from a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault, sourced from the sun-soaked vineyards of the Southern Rhône. This wine departs from Bertrand's usual Beaujolais focus, created in collaboration with Thibault Pfifferling following hail's devastation of his own vineyards. Grapes were sourced from high-quality growers, allowing Bertrand to experiment with a Southern Rhône blend. Triptyque showcases the region's diverse soils, with Grenache thriving in limey soils, Syrah bringing aromatic depth from sandy parcels, and Cinsault adding elegance from the galets roulés (sun-warmed pebbles). The wine is made with minimal intervention: carbonic maceration for Grenache and Cinsault enhances their vibrant fruit profile, while Syrah lends structure through gentle pressing. The wine is aged for seven months in a combination of concrete tanks and barrels, balancing freshness with subtle oak influence.
