Embracing the Weeds by Mya Edwards Peña (Book)

Embracing the Weeds to Mya means acknowledging the ugly parts (the weeds) in her life in order to find the healing and beauty within them. Embracing the weeds is a collection of unspoken poems and images describing Mya’s personal journey through life from adolescence to early adulthood. The book offers Maya's thoughts in a series of vulnerable, true, and raw poems written during quarantine and handwritten poems and hand-drawn images directly from her journal she's written and kept since 7th grade.
