Vintage 1960s, Portmeirion Totem pattern, white Demitasse/Espresso set of 6 cups and matching saucers. This interesting pattern with its atomic / geometric textured raised pattern is one of English designer Susan Williams-Ellis' patterns in the early years that she and her husband owned Portemerion Pottery. Portemerion and its predecessor, Gray's Pottery, is primarily known for its botanical patterns first introduced in the 1970s. (see NOTES below on Susan William-Ellis.)The demitasse cups in this set measure 2 3/8" high and 2 1/4" in diameter (3 1/16" across at the handle). Saucers are 5" wide and 3/4" high with a small lip. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. A unique set that suits modern and contemporary settings as well as rustic and country styles. Makes a wonderful gift!
