This issue of SCR contains several articles on the accelerated installation of industrial process control systems and management information systems, including discussions of the five-year plan for automation; the difficulties in obtaining professional assistance in installing a production control system in Leningrad; the installation of district service bureau centers in Rostov; and a Latvian program called EKOMA that integrates computers and econometric methods for the republic-wide management of industry, agriculture, construction, and consumer services.
