Approximate size: 8 This beautiful pietersite has a mosaic pattern of dark midnight blue to a light dusty blue. It has a subtle chatoyancy (or flash) in the medium blue areas. - Thick triple link band- Stainless steel Pietersite is also called "eagle's eye" and was named in honor of Sid Pieters who discovered it in 1962 in Namibia, Africa. It has embedded fibers of amphibole minerals, which cause a blue chatoyancy (the "cat eye" effect of reflective fibers in stones like tiger's eye). *Please note: the color of the stone may be slightly different in person due to photography/computer monitor/device screen color discrepancies.
