Polygonatum odoratum 'Ruby Slippers' has bright red, upright, slightly arching stems that hold dark green leaves with silvery undersides. Pairs of elongate, white bells, dangle from the leaf axils in late spring followed by blue berries in fall. Plant 'Ruby Slippers' near the woods' edge or along a shady pathway where its pretty red stems can be observed. Polygonatum 'Ruby Slippers' is a colony forming perennial that will spread over time. Not native. Polygonatum odoratum 'Ruby Slippers' prefers partial to full shade and average to moist soil. It maintains its best appearance with consistent moisture, but can tolerate some drought once established.
