The practice of Teshuva (turning and returning) that this Teshuva Practice Deck guides you through is a dynamic and evolving practice. Offering you the opportunity to follow the deck and to create some form of your own expressive practice to engage in daily such as: visual art, writing, movement. To begin, the first card is drawn on the first day of Elul and the practice is completed 40 days later, Yom Kippur considered the day of atonement (At-One-Ment, turning and returning…). At the end of the practice, you are both charged with and enabled to bring the Sacred into the every day. Traditionally the day after Yom Kippur is the time to build the Succah, the roofless hut built to celebrate the harvest, which shields us from sun but not rain and reminds us that the Devine is everywhere, even in the every day and especially in the Earth’s bounty. With this guided practice we are prepared through Elul to approach Yom Kippur and begin the harvest of the soul. This practice can be a force.
