“Bloom. Wild & Free." (Inside Right) - Mom, You Taught Me To Bloom Wherever I Was Planted. Much Love. XOXO.(Inside Left) - On 08.23.1890, Hazel Schmoll was born. Hazel was an American botanist who made herstory a couple of times. Hazel was the 1st woman to earn a doctorate degree in botany from the University of Chicago. The year was 1932 & it was a time when most people still thought a woman's primary focus should be finding & marrying rather than pursuing an education (sadly, 'tis true!) Hazel made herstory a 2nd time when she became the 1st person to conduct a systematic study of plant life in southwestern Colorado. Google "astragalus schmolliae", aka "Schmoll's milkvetch." The lady was a wonder!** SHE Did What?!**- Each card has a slightly "hidden" date somewhere on the print; the date represents a date in HERstory that a woman performed a FANTASTICAL feat. Find the date to discover HERstory!- Made from an original Mixed Media painting- Professionally printed full color
