Their shell is pyramid shaped and can have a star like outline. They are great algae eaters and this species will even clean your glass. They may have trouble righting themselves if accidentally flipped over. If you see them on their "backs", give them a flip and they should be good to go. Invertebrates can be more sensitive to parameter changes than fish or coral. High nitrate levels or sudden changes in pH or Salinity can be very harmful to inverts and may cause death. It is recommended to do a slow acclimation process when adding new inverts to your aquarium.
