Powerful (sintered) provides a more direct and active feel at the brake lever, generating very high braking power, but can be noisier. Very good performance in wet and mud. Progressive (ceramic) offers a modulable feel at the brake lever (unlike sintered compounds) which generates very progressive and stable braking. Very quiet and low-abrasive on the rotors. Completely metal free and longest-life pad.
