
Introduction to Wheel Throwing Class 5 Weeks (10 hours) August 8th start from 6-8pm
This class is a 120-minute (2 hour) introduction to throwing on the potter's wheel for beginners once per week on Friday evenings for 5 weeks (10 hours total). In this instructor-led class, you will learn the basics of wheel throwing as you make your own forms from mugs, bowls, vases and cylinders. This class is perfect for total beginners who have never thrown before and want to learn, or for those who need a total refresher! Topics covered in this class include: Basic tool introduction Clay Safety Wedging clay Centering clay on the potter's wheel Coning up/down Pulling walls and shaping the clay Basic Trimming Glazing Basics Wear old clothes or an apron, you will get messy! Classes will be held on the following dates with the general class topics covered in each session: August 8th: Topics Covered: Basic Intro to throwing, pottery tools and clay safety.
