Region: Lazio > Italy Grapes: Grechetto Bianco Vineyard/Cellar Stats: organic farming, 450m altitude, clay and volcanic soils, aged 6 months in stainless steel and cement, skin contact; bottled unfined/unfiltered with no added So2; zero-zero; 13% ABV  Winemaker: Andrea Occhipinti   Andrea Occhipinti started his eponymous winery to focus on indigenous Lazio grapes, Grechetto Rosso and Aleatico, but has since segued into Grechetto Bianco as well. While slightly more well known, Grechetto Bianco is generally associated with Umbria, which neighbors Lazio to the northeast. After tasting the Fremito, it’s clear that this grape is very much at home in Gradoli where Andrea’s vines are located. The land is adjacent to the largest volcanic lake in Europe, which affects both the climate and soil, and comes across pretty distinctly in the wine.
