AR500 Armor® Trauma Pads utilize slim and Ultralight non-Newtonian layers and padding to decrease blunt force trauma on impact by decreasing back face deformation by both disbursing and absorbing energy over the increased surface area of the trauma pad.Back face deformation occurs when a round impacts body armor. This results in felt energy transfer through the body armor to whatever is behind it. While AR500 Armor® Hard Body Armor has inherently good energy disbursing properties throughout the strike face; our Blunt Force Trauma Pads will further mitigate energy transfer. By decreasing back face deformation and absorbing energy our Trauma Pads mitigate the transfer of energy through the Body Armor and the Trauma Pad resulting in less felt energy.The AR500 Armor® Trauma Pad is designed to be worn in conjunction with our Level III Hard and Level IIIA Carbon Nanotube Soft Body Armor (behind the armor and closest towards your body).
