Physical geography is measured through landforms, maps, and coordinates. Physical geography has changed throughout the ages. Studying these changes is important to understand how geography impacts the world and our lives. Changes in our geographical environment can be brought about naturally, or by human intervention. People use the resources in their area to meet their needs. People also change their environments to make survival easier. Both natural and "human" changes to the environment affect the people, animals and plants that live in the area and these changes have long term effects, both positive and negative.
