The Kamwangi factory was among the top 5 highest paying factories for cherry this year, making them highly competitive for quality and resulting in high volumes of output, as nearby farmers whose coffee met their qualifications were eager to work with them. Another contributing factor to the high quality this year was the introduction of solar dryers to help provide a more predictable and stable drying environment for processing, ensuring that coffee is dried slowly and evenly. In recent years, excessive rain and sun (largely due to climate change) have both been culprits of negatively impacting quality in Kenya.
