Crex Meadows and the surrounding area around Grantsburg Wisconsin is a site and sound to behold when the Sandhill Crane migration is on, generally mid-October. It is estimated that approximately 10,000 cranes pass through the area each Fall. Not nearly as many as the Platte River in Nebraska, but an ample number for some photo ops and crane music.
