The Datejust stone dials are currently undervalued and often overlooked by collectors. It is unfortunate that some fail to appreciate the exquisite aesthetics that a Datejust stone dial offers, especially when compared to its Day-Date counterpart. The early 16238 represents the last desirable Datejust fitted with a stone dial, this reference was quickly fitted with a 6,9 diamond dial and only some of the first transitional models can be found with the super desirable "swiss only" "Big Datejust" onyx dial. These watches command a considerable premium over others, owing to their exceptional aesthetics and newer caliber 3135. Notably, the Datejust logo on the 16018 and the early 16238  is comparatively bigger and employs a larger and more contemporary font style than the early 1601 with "Small Datejust"  "T Swiss T" dials.
