Rolex Day-Date Dauphine ref.1803 de 1962
In 1962, Rolex changed the hands with Alpha or "leaf" silhouette that had been previously used since the launch of reference 1803 in 1956. Now Rolex would use Dauphine-style hands with a unique silhouette that can be appreciated in this watch. One year later, in 1963, these hands would be replaced by the classic rectangular hands that the Day-Date would share with the Datejust to this day, making this watch a very limited production transitional piece, only manufactured for 2 years.
