"Chip Shot" White-Tailed Buck Canvas Art Print for Field & Stream Journal

We’ve all been there at some point (read my blog post to hear the story of mine). We’re given a gift of a big buck, a straight fastball or an easy layup…and we botch it. Once the pain subsides, these mishaps make for great stories, providing laughs around a campfire and bringing us closer together as deer hunters. I painted this modern take on a classic cover for the 2024 Woods edition of the Field & Stream Journal. It’s a companion piece to the Waters edition from the previous spring, and a reminder that even the best hitters in baseball make more outs than hits.
