19th c. French Brass Binoculars with Compass c.1880

ABOUT An original pair of all brass French binoculars with a small compass on the end. The objective lenses are 1 in. diameter and their optics are good. The barrels are painted black and have the manufacturer's name on each. The black metal focus wheel works well. Small attached ring for a strap. CREATOR Unknown. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1880 MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES  Brass, metal, optical glass. CONDITION Good. With appropriate patina for age. The compass spins but unaware if working or not. DIMENSIONS H 3.5 in. x W 3.5 in.  x D 1 in. HISTORY Unknown.
