ABOUT An original pair of leather wrapped and nickel field binoculars with attached strap holder. Maker's mark on the eyepieces 'WK Vanderbilt & Co. San Francisco" and "LeMair Fabt Paris". The metal focus wheel works well and their optics are good. CREATOR WK Vanderbilt & Co. San Francisco and LeMaire Fabt, Paris. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1880-1899. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Nickel, Optical Glass, Leather. CONDITION Good. With appropriate patina for age. Leather rawhide not original. DIMENSIONS H 3.25 in. x W 4.25 in. x D 1.5 in. HISTORY Unknown.
