ABOUT A collection of seven large wooden shipwright clamps with saw tooth sides, threaded wooden screw handle and adjustable steel and wood clamp. CREATOR Unknown. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1800s. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Hickory, Ash, Steel. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Refinished in an oil and wax finish. DIMENSIONS H 72 in. (Base: H 60 in., Screw: H 12 in.) W 7 in. D 2 in. HISTORY Acquired from a family in San Francisco whose great, great grandfather worked in the San Francisco shipyards until 1905.
