ABOUTA set of four mid-century dining chairs with cantilever Oak frames and woven sling backs and seats. CREATOR Ditte & Adrian Heath for France & Sons, Denmark. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1960-1970. MATERIALS & TECHNIQUES Oak, Fabric. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Chairs were recently steam cleaned. DIMENSIONS H 32.5 in. x W 20 in. x D 22 in. Seat Height 18 in. HISTORY Founded in 1948 by the British businessman Charles France and his Danish partner Eric Daverkosen. In the early years the company was called France & Daverkosen, Charles’s son James joined the company in 1957 which resulted in the name change to France & Son.
