3D Metatron's Magnetic Sphere: based on Metatron's Cube - (magnets now included)
This is my own invention. It is one of my studies in 3 dimensionalizing the tradition Metatron's Cube design. The evidence that this is a good representation of the 3D form (minus the connecting lines which make it a bit cluttered, though I have printed it this way), is that if you cut this in half along any of its 4 great circles, you would reveal the circles of the 2D Metatron's Cube within. Making each of the small spheres into the same cuboctahedral geometry as the whole form gives it a fractal quality. The 12 spheres surrounding the center create the vertexes of a cuboctahedron, or as Buckminster Fuller called it 'the 3 dimensional vector equilibrium'. Each 'shell' has 12 spheres just as the traditional design has 6 circles touching the innermost circle. If the centre of each of these 24 spheres were joined to every other point we would have an exact 3D analog of the 2D Metatron's Cube. By analogy then if the 2D form is to be known as Metatron's Cube, then this form must be one d
