Vector Equilibrium - Cuboctahedron pendant - 21mm & 30mm
Buckminster Fuller was the one who pointed out how remarkable the cuboctahedron is. In many ways it is more important than the more famous 'Platonic Solids'. Fuller called it the 'zero point', the perfect balance between positive and negative forces. The form is bounded by 8 triangles and 6 squares. The axes form each of the triangles into a tetrahedron meeting at the centre point. The 12 vertexes show the closest clustering of equal sized spheres in 3D. This form is the smallest unit of the isotropic vector matrix, and related to the 64 tetrahedron grid in exactly the same way as the Seed of Life is related to the Flower of Life.
