Viceroy's overwinter as a small larvae in a little cocoon called a hibernacula, then continue feeding in early spring on willow leaves.  These butterflies have two or three broods each summer, and are found in riparian habitats in the desert Columbia River basin and tributaries. Item Details: You will receive one Viceroy Butterfly chrysalis, inspected for quality and weight before shipping.  These pupae are VERY WIGGLY :) Chrysalid will eclose/hatch around the middle of July 2025 We guarantee shipping a live chrysalis.  Because this is a live animal, there are no other guarantees after shipment.
