The serene woodblock print "Ikegami Shogi"(Floating Camellia and Two Sweetfish) is by Gyoshu Hayami (1894-1935). Published by Kyoto Hanga-in. Carver's name; Matsuda, Printer's name, Ito, publisher seal, numbered "No.83", and publisher red seal on the lower right margin. Gyoshu's signature and a red seal on the lower-left corner of the image. Peaceful image of two sweetfish with a large floating camellia. Very soothing and relaxing print. Gyoshu Hayami (1894-1935) was a Nihonga (Japanese painting) artist. He died quite young. He left many masterpieces in his short life, and "Meiju Chiri Tsubaki"(Camellia Petals Scattering) was first designated as an important cultural artwork in the Showa period.
