This striking woodblock print " Shimotsuke Kurokamiyama Kirifuri no taki" (Kirifuri Waterfall at Mt, Kurokami in Shimotsuke) is by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849). This is most popular print of Hokusai's waterfall series. Katsushika Hokusai was a Japanese artist, Ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period. Paper size is 11 and 1/4 inches by 16 and 5/8 inches. Originally in Edo period, this re-covered edition, probably mid Showa era. Genuine Japanese handmade woodblock print.  Still tipped on original presentation folder. Title on the upper right of image. Signature and red seals. (publisher seal and Kiwame seal) on the lower right of image. Very nice embossing and strong colors. Absolutely striking image. This is one of Hokusai's master pieces. It comes with original presentation cover with note. This fantastic print was published by Kaiseisha / Ooedo mokuhansha.
