The beautiful woodblock print, 'Shimo-Meguro' (View from Shimo-Meguro), is by Hokusai Katsushika (1760-1849). It is part of the series 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji' (Fugaku sanjūrokkei) and is a re-carved edition. The print is beautifully balanced, featuring a distant view of Mt. Fuji in the middle and an excellent composition. This edition was published by Yuyudo in the Showa era (the 1980s) and is smaller than the regular Oban size. The print features highly detailed carving and beautiful embossing, reflecting the high-quality craftsmanship of this famous publisher.
