The unique Western-style woodblock print "VIVE LA FRANCE" is by Hide Kawanishi (1894-1965). This large size print depicts a fabulous French cafe with vivid colors. Very rare print. This was later printed in 1980. (posthumous printing) Hide Kawasnishi was born in Kobe. He never left his hometown. His modernist and exotic landscape of Kobe continues to fascinate people both inside and outside Japan. He is one of the pioneer artists of the Sosaku Hanga movement.
